Strategic Plan Pillars

Engaged Community

Guided by the foundation of our Episcopal tradition, students join an extraordinary community of caring. Through strong relationships, we find support when we need it most and are prepared to give it to others.

All girls will be confident in who they are as an individual and in their belonging as a part of the whole. St. Catherine’s will remain uncompromising in our commitment to close interpersonal relationships. We will create more opportunities for authentic and organic relationship building, through cross-divisional, coordinate, parent, and alumnae programming and dedicated unstructured time.

A reimagined campus-wide schedule allows time for reflection and joy along with deeper connections. A culture of true belonging will be a mainstay of the St. Catherine’s experience.

The St. Catherine's Experience

Enhance the experience for our students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumnae to broaden perspectives and enrich our community, recognizing that the St. Catherine’s experience extends beyond the classroom.

Selected Strategies
  • Ensure that each person is welcomed, known, and valued, understanding that a more diverse community enriches the experience for all.
  • Review and improve existing co-curricular programming, traditions, and events.
  • Provide experiential learning opportunities to widen our girls’ connection to and appreciation for the broader community.
  • Affirm a culture of service learning and community engagement that fosters connection and understanding.
Relationships

Provide opportunities for all students, faculty and staff, parents, and alumnae to develop inclusive and enduring connections that extend beyond St. Catherine’s campus.

Selected Strategies
  • Evaluate existing programming, ensuring all members of the community, including parents, alumnae, faculty, and staff, have opportunities to strengthen their connections with each other and with the school.
  • Strengthen alumnae network possibilities, connecting alumnae with students, faculty, staff, and each other.
  • Use a multi-channel communications approach to share information about the School and community members to support connections.
  • Review time, location, and programming for parent and alumnae functions, recognizing changing demographics and priorities.
Well-being

Create a nurturing community that recognizes that wellness is a critical component of holistic excellence.

Selected Strategies
  • Affirm a shared understanding of well-being, including physical and mental health, social/emotional well-being, and functional well-being.
  • Be intentional about creating foundational experiences that allow our girls to gain the tools, resilience, and confidence to thrive in a variety of situations.
  • Embrace our Episcopal identity and support students in growing in wisdom and grace.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of and recommend improvements to existing well-being programs.
  • Equip students for times that we know increase stress for them – e.g., division transitions, social events, life changes, college acceptance, and other transitions.
  • Model habits for students that reduce pressure and support well-being.
