Director of Athletics Julie Dayton Announces Retirement

Julie Dayton will retire at the end of the 2024-2025 school year following 25 years of service. 
St. Catherine's School announced on Friday that beloved Director of Athletics Julie Dayton will retire at the end of this school year. 
 
In 25 years under Dayton's direction, the Saints have won 59 VISAA State Championship titles and 150 League of Independents Schools (LIS ) titles. Nearly 200 Saints student-athletes have continued their careers in college. 
 
Career Highlights
Dayton led the design, building and opening of the Kenny Athletic and Fitness Center and Goochland field and worked closely with our Development team to transform the southern third of our campus to add a water-based astroturf field (one of less than 20 at a high school in the U.S.). She initiated a coach education program and captain's leadership training. Dayton created a St. Catherine's Hall of Fame and started the Signing Day ceremonies. 
 
Honoring Julie Dayton
Julie Dayton will be celebrated on Sept. 26 before the Saints Field Hockey game vs. Fredericksburg Academy at Julie Dayton Field. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. with the brief ceremony beginning around 5 p.m. St. Catherine’s will celebrate Julie throughout the year.
