French Students Hold Bake Sale for Partner School in Haiti
The eighth grade French students held a bake sale earlier this week to benefit St. Jacques School in Haiti.
Middle School French students raised $442 with a bake sale held during lunch on Tuesday. All proceeds benefit l’École St. Jacques, our partner school in Haiti.
Earlier this school year, the eighth grade French students learned about the school and the mounting hardships Haitians are facing. They were struck by the fact that the $25 yearly tuition at the school is more than most Haitians can afford and that most of the students eat just two meals every three days.
Middle School faculty members pledged additional donations to increase the total raised to more than $500. The money raised will be sent directly to the school to help pay the salaries of the teachers. The students are already inquiring about holding another bake sale later this school year.
