About:

I was born in Williamsburg and raised in Norfolk. After short(ish) stints in New Orleans, central Pennsylvania, and the seacoast of Maine, I returned to Virginia and have been rooted in Richmond ever since. I’m a communications and marketing professional who loves meeting new people and building community. I love any excuse to plan a gathering, craft party decor, and practice calligraphy.

My daughter's hobbies/interests:

Piper's favorite activities are ice skating, dance, singing, swimming, and gymnastics. She also takes piano lessons through St. Catherine’s.

Things we enjoy doing as a family:

We love to travel and explore new places together—Piper is determined to find the best cheeseburger in every city we visit. We also enjoy spending time with friends, visiting the Science museum, playing games, and going to shows at local theaters.

Favorite St. Catherine's tradition or memory:

Daisy Days! What's better than watching the Green fill with thousands of our community members while smiles and joy abounds?

Why we chose St. Catherine's:

My husband and I both attended public school until college, so deciding to send our daughter to an independent school was a big decision. Ultimately, we wanted the best education and environment we could provide for her. We explored a number of top private schools in Richmond, but once we visited St. Catherine's, our decision was made. We immediately felt at-home on campus—we connected with other parents, were inspired by the administration, and felt reassured by the faculty. Piper started at St. Catherine's in Junior Kindergarten and our experience continues to exceed expectations. The girl-centered approach meets Piper's academic and social needs—she’s both challenged and supported, and truly enjoys being at school. As a parent, I’m thankful for the welcoming community and the opportunities to become involved on campus.
