Senior Fielding Croft recently set the all-time assists record at St. Catherine's.

The record-breaking moment for the St. Catherine's girls volleyball team was in the making over two generations of Saints stars.
When senior setter Fielding Croft was in eighth grade, she knew two-time All-Metro player of the year Quinn Menger, now a senior at Penn State.
Since the beginning of her playing days in P.E. class, Croft looked up to Menger, a fellow setter.
Now, Croft has broken Menger's all-time assists record at St. Catherine's, an achievement that felt like a full-circle moment, she said.
"I was so excited," Croft said. "Especially knowing Quinn, her dad coached me, we're very close. It was just really cool."
