Thank you for your interest in working at St. Catherine’s School, an all-girls independent school located in Richmond, Virginia. Founded in 1890, St. Catherine's is located on a picturesque 16-acre campus in the western part of the city and enrolls approximately 950 girls age 3 through grade 12.

  • Middle School Spanish Teacher

    St. Catherine’s School seeks a committed and experienced Middle School Spanish teacher who is knowledgeable of middle school girls’ education and has a passion for working with middle school girls and faculty. As part of the Middle School team, this teacher will engage with faculty and students through the Middle School program in which we purposefully define program outcomes to benefit our girls. This MS Spanish teacher should be able to implement a 6th-grade and 7th-grade Spanish language program.  The MS Teacher role will include serving as an advisor, meeting with two grade-level teams, collaborating with other MS Spanish teachers, and attending regular Department meetings. All teachers, as members of our community, establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents/caregivers, and colleagues.
     
    Supervisor: Head of Middle School
    Position Status: Salaried, exempt, full-time, regular, 9-month
    Hours of Work: Standard work week.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Create a classroom community based on the School's core values
    • Implement and uphold the School’s access, equity, and belonging initiatives
    • Develop and implement the Spanish curriculum that includes a focus on skill development
    • Teach 5 sections which include 6th and 7th-grade Spanish
    • Work collaboratively with and align with colleagues teaching same-level courses
    • Serve as a 7th-grade student advisor
    • Sponsor club activities
    • Serve on School life committees when requested
    • Find joy in working with students and the wider School community both in teaching and taking part  in the broader life of the School
    • Follow personnel policies as described in the Employee Handbook
    • Attend faculty and departmental meetings
    • Complete student reports in a timely manner

  • BOC Certified Assistant Athletic Trainer, Full-Time Temp

    Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with all facets of the daily operations of the Athletic Training Room & Sports Medicine Program, including coverage for middle and upper school teams in 14 sports throughout the school year for approximately 40 hours per week.  Responsible for all aspects of health care for student-athletes including, injury prevention, recognition, treatment, evaluation, referral of injuries, rehabilitation, return to play evaluation, education, injury counseling, and documentation.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Collaborate with Head Athletic Trainer about practice/game coverage, athletic injuries, parent communications, and general athletic training room needs
    • Offer on site medical coverage for all practices/games/camps including late night events and some weekends
    • Travel as needed to off site events 
    • Administering and monitoring of Return to Learn and Return to Play protocols for athletes with concussions. Includes administration and interpretation of computerized concussion testing.
    • Liaison between parents, students, administration, coaches and faculty as needed
    • Prevention, recognition, management, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries
    • Offer injury evaluation/treatment/rehabilitation hours during athletic program hours
    • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments for sports injuries, and injuries treated by a physician
    • Collaborate with League, VISAA, and other local Athletic Trainers in regards to injuries sustained by visiting athletes, and home athletes participating at away events.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer, Director of Athletics, and Head of School
    Skills
    • BOC Certified
    • Licensed (or eligible) to practice Athletic Training in the state of Virginia
    • Current First Aid/CPR Certification
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with other members of the school community, other healthcare professionals, adolescents and parents/guardians.
    • Proficiency in basic data management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., google applications); willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with appropriate discretion

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    St. Catherine's School is accepting applications for School Bus Drivers. Applicants with Class A or Class B CDL, with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements with a minimum of three years' driving experience are preferred. Responsibilities include driving students along daily shuttle route and day trips. Maintaining assigned bus in a safe, clean, professional manner is a must. Employment is subject to successful background check and physical evaluation.
     
    Requirements
    Core responsibilities of the Bus Driver include:
    • Pre-trip the vehicle properly.
    • Have bus fueled and ready to go 15 minutes prior to departure time
    • Properly fill out time sheet and mileage reports after each drive
    • Have reputable driving background
    • Must possess a Class B CDL with Passenger “P” and “Air Brake” Endorsements.
    • Must not have an air brakes restriction
    Note: Drivers must be able to work various shifts per week.

    The Substitute Teacher is an educational professional who replaces regular teachers for a short period of time (e.g. a week, or month) or longer in certain cases. The Substitute Teacher will ensure the lesson plan is followed and the classroom is managed according to the standards of the division and school. The Substitute Teacher should seek to establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and other faculty/staff members; seek to collaborate effectively with other faculty/staff members; and endeavor to support the school’s mission and core values. She or he will help to run classes smoothly and promote an effective learning environment. St. Catherine’s maintains a list of approved substitutes in each division.     Pay: The rate of payment for substitute teaching is $120 per day for a full day and $80 for a half day.
